(+2)

i dont know what these people be saying but i had fun with it

(+1)

unfortunetely it is unable to be played on newer macs and needs to be updated, so I can't play :(

if you are still reading these please update it

(1 edit) (+2)

well  it is opensource :D  so you can try to compile it for newer macs (note i would encourage you to use linux instead of macOS but anyways)  yourself also i would like to remind you that unfortunately you spelled unfortunately   wrong

planets are basically balls with textures. there are no mountains or smth. so its boring to visit planets.

A really cool idea but didn't worked good on the paper.

Game is way slower than expected for a 8-bit game and audio shreds your ears like a 70s style distorted synth.

Mechanics are complex for a simulator and could be directed with a basic mouse movement, that would have been better for a game like this and make it not only enjoyable but much much better.

All the stars are the copy of others with the exception of color change.

Needs a better development process.

2/5.

I hope you do realize that:

It was made in 10 hours

It was made for a game jam.

They could've handled debugging much more better if they wanted to imho.7

It looks good, but the game is super slow for me and the audio shreds my ears. Also a lot of lighting because of the same speed. If you're on an older PC - save yourself from epilepsy.

Hii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it, hopefully it is useful to you ^^

-The idea of the game is really well executed and fun to play.

-The gameplay mechanics are really well translated from the reference you've used and work very nice with the design aproach you took.Despite of that I think that having some wild life on the planets would make the game even more interesting.

-The visuals of the game are well done and you have used the low res theme really well ^^

Hopefully this is useful to you :D, also if you could subscribe that would help me a lot :)

Regards

This game was an amazing accomplishment. Its awesome how you was able to fit so much into this. Can't wait to see what you make next.

Reminds me of Noctis. It's cool!

(+1)

Impressive, I really liked when it went "kchhhhhhhhhh"

Really amazing what was achieved with such constraints!

Great!

(+2)

how did you do the resolution like this in unity?

(+1)

If your using URP you can turn down the render scale in the Pipeline Settings. Idk if thats what he did tho

i also just learned abt render textures

I used this: https://gist.github.com/nothke/e68576aeca5ca6279343f8cd1e0d42ca

I really like the look of it but i cant play it :( so i cant give you mone

love it
(+3)

You wouldn't be willing to consider putting the source for this on github, would you? I'm kind of curious to learn from this one.

please! id love to work on this!

(+1)

Hey! I've finally open sourced it and put it up here: https://github.com/nothke/normans-sky

Hey! I've finally open sourced it and put it up here: https://github.com/nothke/normans-sky

i downloaded, it's very dark and hard to see, much darker than the preview, how do i fix

(+1)

The mac version says it needs to be updated

Oh, thanks for that, I might rebuild it in a newer verison of Unity

(+1)

Just played.  Simple and fun.  Like games should.  Fun WIP.  Making a sequel?  I'll play it

This looks fun.  Trying.

(+1)

Somehow, ramming a planet ant full hyperspeed doesn't kill you. ;p Great game.

(+1)

I wish their was a 64 bit version for Linux :(

(+1)

Will there be a 64 bit release?

(+3)

i like a lot the lowpoly-lowresc-experimental look of the game

What are the controls for xbox 360 pad? I don't totally get it

(+2)(-2)

high res version of this would be nice, thanks.

(+8)(-3)

Could you Release the code or project file please so we could modify this

YES

(+1)

Would actually work really well as a mobile game, just swipe to turn the ship

(+5)

this game is amazing this isn't what i'll call just another unity game. keep up the good work

Cool stuff!  :)

Nice game. The game play was good, although the controls took some time to get used to. TBH, it was fun for some time but I got bored very soon (maybe due to the lack of a story or objective/mission).

In order to get this to run this inside Debian, i had to do the following:

sudo apt-get install libxcursor1:i386
sudo apt-get install libxrandr2:i386

(+3)(-2)

This game is essentially no man's sky. Same amount of content even. :D

(+2)(-2)

Could you possibly publish the your project folder for download?

(1 edit) (+2)

I was bored and scavenging for some fun games. Then I found this one. It kept me busy for half an hour and I feel happy. Thanks for making this!

(+1)

First of all, is there a way to pay money for this?

Also, just out of curiosity, how did you make it so that the sky transforms into space as you fly further upwards? How did you incorporate that functionality into Unity?

(+1)(-5)

Please send me your code, I want to make my own game thats procedurally generated like this but with some major differences. You will obviously be sourced.

WOW; IT`s amasing
