Hallo! I'm here in 2024 and i love how... random, maybe this game is... It feels like a dream. I would suggest having the in game ability to turn the FPS down... but other than that, its probably oddly one of my favorite games on Itch.io... <3

This game is a really awesome game and I love wandering around, exploring the seemingly infinite mall/shopping center. The vibes are really calm and nice and finding the most bizarre items to smell is really funny and enjoyable. One update I would beg to see you do is procedurally generated NPCs with a high density count (or density options) that wander around the mall/shopping center which could really add some immersion. They could be realistic, low poly, etc. I really don't care which. And they can also like randomly say stuff in text bubbles like "Wow, this looks amazing!" or "God damn this smells horrible!", etc.

(1 edit)

Like honestly, this would be so cool. I'd even pay for this at that point.

That would be amazing... it would be even better if you could interact with them

I remember playing this a while ago.
Just played through it again recently.
I love the vibes of this game and I think it's really cool to have procedural stuff happening. ^^

Thanks a lot! I'm glad someone still enjoys it :)

Nice, I wanted to jump down and explore the outside though

(+1)

love the atmosphere in this game, it feels so soothing - really cool thing you guys have made here!

Could you possibly make it so you could turn down the graphics? I desperately want to play this but my 2012 MacBook Pro can't handle the graphics, other than that, great game!

Also, running the game with a lower resolution thru the terminal didn't affect the FPS

(+2)

Trust me make it multiplayer

i just wanna smell purfume with my freinds

(+1)

An infinite perfume smelling simulator that just so  happens to be inside an equally infinite airport. Utterly bizarre and I love that this game is real.

(+1)

Wow, a beautiful and calm place without any kind of living creatures A DREAM COME TRUE

(+2)

yo why did I get so relaxed from this that I'm legit sleepy now!?

I'd daydream about be able to explore an empty world like this!

thanks for the experience!

wish it weren't just scents, maybe some food stalls and snacks around would be interesting too.

though I don't personally know what an airport is like since I've never been to one.

Ahh sorry to report that the mouse isn't working on MacOS (10.13.6 .. yeah oldie) – only the keyboard is working to walk around but no pan/tilt... i guess it's the neckbrace edition?? would be awesome if it could be fixed (saw similar issue on another game?) or use additional keyboard keys for those functions? Also not having a left/right/middle clicker is a little tricky.. would also be helpful if keyboard could smell/putback/buy. Cheers + oh so wish your other games had Mac releases... will hold breath until then...

(This was at full 1920x1080 - it ran at 20-40 FPS at 640x480.)

(+2)

this is so weird and cool. really good vibes

(+1)

nice game (;

(+2)

Nice game

(1 edit)

I like the idea, it makes me feel a kind of paradoxal, the ambiance is calm, but the endless airport with nobody else it seemed like in a liminal space in-game

Cool ideia, but in 5 minutes you start to see the same things, like a cycle.

(+4)

Love the game! It's super relaxing walking around the airport when there's nobody else there.

Just wanted to also let you know that I noticed that all reflextions seem to be from perspective of outside looking in, which seemed a little surreal

(+3)

So I like the mood and the procedural generation, and the windows and endless walking all had a wonderful feel to it. But I have a big problem- there's no carpets! I used to get shipped all over the place through airports as a kid and I have so many memories of chilling out on various airport carpets. I guess it depends on the airport and also the area of the airport, but yeah if there was like some weird little rest area that was carpeted and popped up every few miles of walking that'd be perfect. Still, really good job!

(+3)

I really loved this. May I ask what you're doing for lighting? Seems like a whole lot of pixel lights, I imagine activated within some distance from the camera.

(1 edit) (+3)

Yes, indeed, there are a lot of pixel lights. We are using deferred rendering, there aren't too many light overlaps, and also no point light shadows, so it is quite efficient. There is no special activation of lights, they get spawned together with walkways, but since in deferred rendering it only matters how many pixels on screen one light covers, rendering distant lights is actually very cheap. Btw, runway lights are just bloomy billboards, not true lights.

I think the game was probably broken on my machine - the entire terminal was pitch black and the sky outside was purple - but it ran fine at the lowest resolution and it was honestly beautiful. And the music was lovely. Thank you for making this.

(+3)(-1)

That's pretty great. :D

It's an impressive game when it can be that graphically "broken" and still result in a positive player experience!

(+1)

Ooooh. Win or Mac? Are you playing on an old GPU? It probably doesn't support compute shaders as my sky requires them.

(+2)

It's a ten-year-old laptop, so the compute shader thing is probably the issue. The internet says it has an NVIDIA NVS 3100M, if that helps.

(+2)

I played this game on stream at my Twitch!

And I thoroughly enjoyed it despite being quite confused. All of the smells seem to be randomly generated, but it was fun to see planes taking off regardless!

(+1)

Thanks! Glad you liked it! Yeah, the perfumes and smells are procedurally generated.

(+3)

Can I press i for "Invert mouse In Interminal"?

This game is scary.

(+1)

Yeah, we could add "invert mouse" as an option

(+4)

The architecture and mountains remind me of the Hong Kong airport, where we stayed for a 17 hour layover when our original flights were cancelled. Great simulation of that experience!

(+3)

A most banal horror. J.G. Ballard would approve.

If I found myself trapped in this endless space, how long would I last before I tried drinking perfume?

(1 edit) (+1)

My game is lagging realy bad. about 8 FPS.

SPECS :

Intel Core 15-2520M CPU @ 2.50 GHz

GPU : Intel HD Graphics 3000

Running Windows 10

Thats all i know for my specs

(+1)

Hey! Sorry to hear that.
Yeah, the game is very intensive on the GPU, your GPU might be struggling.
Have you tried lowering the resolution from the resolution screen?

I hope you can enjoy the game somehow!

(+3)

Played this game on M1 Mac

(+2)

This game would be really cool in VR, and even cooler if you guys colaborated with chemists and created a system where the player can navigate the game in VR and smells would get dispenced in real time depending on what the player is smelling in the game

Also there's some weird constant flickering of lights in the distance.

Cool game idea and nice aesthetics.

(+1)

I absolutely adore this! https://www.funvideogames.biz/2020/12/interminal-airport-simulator-of-my.html

Crash on startup

Hi! That's too bad :(
Can you give us more information?
What OS are you playing? other computer specs?

It is certainly not a relatively powerful PC, but it was used in the past for 3D modeling.

Mm, it could be many things. You might be running out of RAM.. or maybe we are using something that requires the latest directX, but you'd need windows 10 for that.

I'm sorry I'm afraid I can't help you much right now :(
I hope you can find another computer to play some day!

(+4)

Fantastic airport simulator. Highly realistic and full of wonderful SMELLS

(+2)

Love the environment

(+5)

superb game (like always) but we need an export function of the list (like txt or alse) baybe with an image of the box in the shopping list :3 (because some image+text are funny)

an other idea is to make the box's size randomized too ?

anyway great job here !
